![]() Welcome to my website! I am delighted to have been chosen as overall winner of the 2009 Poetry Business Book and Pamphlet Competition. My first collection, Dear Mr Asquith, will be published by Smith/Doorstop Books in September 2010. http://www.poetrybusiness.co.uk/index.php/nina-boyd Born in Hertfordshire, I moved to West Yorkshire in the sixties, where I had three children and graduated from Leeds University. I went on to be a nurse, and later a medical book indexer. I am a student on the MA Creative Writing course at Manchester Metropolitan University. I now live in Huddersfield with my poet husband, John Bosley, and a cat called Dora. I am currently working on a collection of poems about the Suffragettes; and a biography of Mary Sophia Allen, one of the first British policewomen. Please explore this site! I am happy to give readings of my poetry, some of which you can read on the poems page. NEWS! The next Albert Poets event is on Thursday 9th September 2010 at 8:00 pm, at the Albert Hotel, Huddersfield. Readers are Carole Bromley, Helen Cadbury, Lydia Harris and Steve Sneyd.
